Funding SPFA Supports

SPFA oversees the Pepsi Program and the Required Student Fee process through Student Senate and the funding allocated by these committees.

Student Senate Funding

Required Student Fees (RSF) serve campus and promote the needs of students. Revenue from the Required Student Fees totals around $24 million each fiscal year. The RSF budget is set in the spring of each year for the next fiscal (academic) year. Student Senate authorizes the Required Student Fees in the Student Senate Budget Book.
The RSF funds Student Senate allocates includes:

  • Student Senate Activity Fee
    • Wednesday Night Fund
    • Line Fund
    • Block Fund
  • Community Development Fund
  • Educational Opportunity Fund

Community Development Fund

Student Senate uses RSF revenue from the Community Development Fund fee for the purpose of supporting registered student organizations who promote community life and intercultural education at the university. CDF is allocated by a student committee and can be applied for throughout the academic year and through Line Funding. Organizations seeking funding must be registered with the Student Engagement Center.

Educational Opportunity Fund

Student Senate uses RSF revenue from the Educational Opportunity Fund fee for the purpose of supporting university departments, units, or affiliated organizations to support students enrolled in courses on the Lawrence Campus or Edwards Campus. EOF is allocated following the Required Student Fee process by a Student Senate Committee and can only be spent in the following academic year. Allocations are administered by the receiving department.

The Pepsi Program includes Pepsi Funding and Pepsi Product requests.
