Applying for Line Funding

Applications for Line Funding are submitted in Spring for use the next academic (fiscal) year.

Applications can be found on KU Engage (formerly known as Rock Chalk Central). 

Applications typically open in December of each academic year and must be applied for before the Required Student Fee process ends.

Organizations seeking Line Funding submit applications which are reviewed by the Student Senate Treasurer for constitutional compliance. 

Applications allow organizations to complete requests for more than one event or project in one application.

Funding Allocation Process

Line Funding Committee, made up of students elected by Student Senate, reviews all applications and submits a proposal for allocations. 

Line Funding Committee cannot meet until a Required Student Fee package has passed in the Spring semester.

The proposal for Line Funding is reviewed as legislation by the Student Senate Finance Council and then by the Students’ Assembly.

Once a proposal is approved, Student Senate’s Treasurer will communicate to organizations who have been awarded funding.

Funding Use Request Process

Line Funding can only be spent in the following academic (fiscal) year.

If an organization has been awarded Line Funding, additional forms must be submitted when the time comes to spend the allocation.

Request form can be found on KU Engage and is reviewed by the Student Senate Treasurer for constitutional compliance. 

Funding Requests must be approved a minimum of 10 business days before the event.
